Positive Trends in BC's Property Market - September Updates
For this month’s roundup we figured that everyone could do with a healthy dose of positivity! Something that it seems has been in short supply throughout 2020, with that in mind, here’s a look at some of the positive recent trends in BC real estate.
Primarily thanks to government stimulus and support packages (as well as an improvement in both interest rates and personal savings creating more available capital for buyers) the BC housing market has trended in the opposite direction to many predictions, with both sales and prices growing.
The numbers also reflect a rearranging of consumer priorities — with scenic views and a healthy active lifestyle high on the agenda people are now seeking to move as a way of opening up a different way of living.
The key numbers are :
National records for home sales
Record sales in the lower mainland areas
Sales up 32.7% in Chilliwack
On the commercial side of things, volume has remained largely the same, with industrial and multifamily properties doing exceptionally well while retail suffered.
However, many experts predict that we will see an eventual bounceback for the retails sector.
